Almar Zaadstra - about the Artist
Almar came to Mt Gambier in the south-east of South Australia as a young child. He was lucky to have an artistic upbringing in an artistic family with a strong desire to draw and paint like the old masters such as Rembrandt, Rubens and Constable. By combining this with the history and scenery of the magnificent western districts of Victoria, many unique and realistic oil paintings have resulted. He lives on top of a hill in the picturesque town of Casterton, Victoria with his wife Judith and four children. They have a studio and art gallery in the main street of the town. More of Almar's work can be found on his website
